Day 2 of Red Hot Preaching Conference
On Day 2 of the conference at Verity Baptist Church in Sacramento, we had 132 people out soul winning in the morning and 269 in attendance at the evening preaching service. Brother Stucky preached to us Friday morning before we went out knocking on doors, and he made an important point about being thorough in your soul winning.
One of the problems in many of the independent Baptist churches outside of our movement is a 1-2-3 repeat-after-me style of soul-winning. We need to make sure that people understand and believe the gospel before leading them in a prayer. This was probably the most important message of the entire conference. Pastor Jimenez’ Soul Winning Seminar is a valuable resource for people wanting to learn to effectively present the gospel. This DVD series was available--for free, of course--on the back table during the conference. Hopefully people will go home and watch the seminar and then pass it along to others.
Pastor Manly Perry preached a powerful ten-minute sermon entitled, “Speak with Your Feet,” which was mainly all about going soul winning. One of the highlights was when he called out “Anderson the Sodomite Cooper!” He also made it clear to the “LGBTFILTH” community that we will not drink the vile Kool-Aid of the homo agenda. Not only did Brother Perry get us fired up with his powerful sermon, but we had some great laughs as he delivered a few colorful Southern sayings. Nobody wants to be “cold as a well digger’s hind end,” so let’s keep the fire from the Red Hot Preaching Conference kindled by continuing to do lots of soul winning in our own communities.
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15
We brought in our dynamic Bible reader from Faithful Word Baptist Church, Brother Domonique Davis, to read Acts Chapter One. Read in his usual style, the scripture reading was a sermon in and of itself.
Pastor Romero’s sermon was entitled, “Don’t Just Stand There.” He ripped on Christians that aren’t doing anything for the Lord and pastors who aren’t making sin exceedingly sinful. He then preached against all kinds of sin including abortion, pornography, and divorce and shocked us with statistics related to those sins. He also told a story about Sodomites that gave a whole new relevance to the Bible calling them "dogs!" Haha! Finally, Pastor Romero made it clear that in the end it’s all up to us as Christians to make the difference…
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
