We are already in Malawi

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8

Members of our church spent almost two weeks in Malawi last month, and things went really well. They’ve already put together a highly-motivated soul-winning team of six people, and in the short time that they were there, they saw a total of 162 souls saved!

Two local pastors, who are breaking away from local denominations are excited about helping with Faithful Word Baptist Church Malawi.

There’s always the possibility of being banned, but Lord willing, we will start the church there in April 2017.

Not only were the people of Malawi extremely receptive to the Gospel, but they really want to go to church and are looking forward to the launch of FWBC Malawi in April. One young man who had just gotten saved was asked what he would tell homosexuals that don’t want the church to be started there, and he replied that he would tell them to “go to Hell.”

Enough people in Malawi are fluent in English for us to conduct church services in English, but it is a blessing to already have some locals on our team who can also speak the native language of Chichewa. We plan to kick things off with another soul-winning marathon in April, which is a great opportunity for soul winners who are interested in going on another missions trip.

As always, the haters of God are trying to make this about our stand against homosexuality, but that’s not the focus of our church or this mission. When we have these mission trips, we are there to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and to train locals to do the same.

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.” 2 Timothy 4:2

Reverend Thabo Mampane Exposed

“Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.” Luke 20:46-47

Reverend Thabo Mampane, who was interviewed with me on a radio show while I was in Botswana, bragged about his master’s degree in theology and other earthly accolades and how he seeks the approval of other religious leaders to make sure he is “relevant” in today’s society.

“For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” John 12:43

He tried to defend the practice of sprinkling by saying we don’t have enough water to baptize people nowadays. Ironically, one of the first things I noticed as a guest in that country is that the people routinely shower twice a day! It’s not that they’re short on water—they’re short on truth.

Last time I checked, seventy percent of the earth’s surface is water. People don’t live in places where they do not have access to any water, so it’s a stupid argument anyway. If someone lived somewhere where water was scarce, we would take that person to a place that had more water, baptize them, and send them home.

“And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.” John 3:23

If you were baptized by sprinkling or pouring, that is not baptism. Baptism is being dunked under water because it symbolizes the burial and resurrection.

“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4

“And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.” Acts 8:38

Not only is Thabo Mampane wrong on baptism, but this guy embodies the worst trends in modern Christianity. He believes much of the Bible is outdated, and he is not saved. When a guy from our church ran into Mampane and asked him “the question,” he admitted to not knowing if he was on his way to heaven. It is no surprise that this watered-down liberal is revered by the masses as one of the spiritual leaders of his country.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14

Fight the Good Fight

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:” –the Apostle Paul

In the Old Testament we read a lot about physical battles, but in the New Testament the Bible teaches that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood” and that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal.” There is still a war going on and many battles to be fought, but it’s a spiritual warfare, not a physical one.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12

Now, a lot of people get it when we say that in the Old Testament they fought all these physical battles, but in the New Testament we don’t. Everybody’s got that down it seems—they realize we aren’t still in a physical fight. But what they fail to understand is that we are still at war. We are in a spiritual warfare against our own flesh, against sin, and against wicked people who teach false doctrine and try to silence us.

"For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members." Romans 7:22-23

“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” Romans 16:17-18

“They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.” Proverbs 28:4

There’s a Christianity today that has forsaken the law by not doing any fighting at all. They don’t understand that from Old Testament to New Testament we are just going from a physical fight to a spiritual fight. The average church today teaches that we went from a physical fight to NO fight, and that our job is to just get along with everybody. But there are in fact spiritual battles going on today, and that’s why the Old Testament battles are so applicable.

Archbishop Ndungane Hates the Gospel

“South Africa is a society facing many challenges‚ including that of poverty. We don’t need to have a man such as Pastor Anderson stirring up conflict and division through hate speech. I therefore call on Minister Gigaba to deny him entry to the country. I also call on Pastor Anderson to immediately apologise to Minister Gigaba for having insulted him on his video. He would do well to learn from the African concept of ubuntu‚ in which we respect others even if we differ from them. Clearly‚ Pastor Anderson has yet to experience the liberating freedom of the love of Jesus Christ‚ a man who accepted all people without reservation‚”—Archbishop Ndungane

“But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.”—Jesus Christ (Matthew 23:13)

Throughout history, oppressive governments have stepped in and tried to stop the gospel from being preached. Wicked governments that oppose true Christianity often have their own pope or minister to back up their tyranny. One of these phony preachers piped up this week, and that person is Njongonkulu Ndungane, Archbishop Emeritus of Cape Town and former Primate of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. “Bishop Dung” as I like to call him for short, made a call on Thursday stating that I needed to be banned from South Africa. Ndungane and others like him have accused me of hate speech, but I submit to you that they are every bit as hateful as they say I am. They hate God, they hate the Bible, and they hate the gospel of Jesus Christ.

People don’t have to clean up their lives to be saved, but some people are so wicked they don’t even want to be told that what they are doing is wrong. When you shine the word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ on these people, they’re like cockroaches that want to retreat back into the darkness and filth they crawled out of.

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” John 3:19

I am disappointed that I will not be allowed into South Africa for the soul-winning marathon, but fortunately I have been on the news in South Africa every day for over a week. Ironically, keeping me out of South Africa has also caused almost everyone in that country to hear my name. I pray that many of them will look up the sermons from Faithful Word Baptist Church and hear the truth about the free gift of salvation.

I am also praying that locals in places where I am not welcome such as South Africa and the United Kingdom, will utilize the soul-winning demonstrations and soul-winning seminar and be the boots on the ground out presenting the gospel to people one-on-one. If you are a pastor or even just an experienced soul winner in South Africa, it is imperative that you to teach others how to effectively win souls since people learn better by going out and actually experiencing door-to-door evangelism.

“And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:15

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:20

What I wanted to accomplish with the soul-winning marathon was to win souls myself and also train others how to effectively win someone to the Lord using the King James Bible. The trip was solely for the purpose of evangelism. I was not coming to condemn anyone, because the Bible says they are “condemned already.”

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:16-18

Ndungane is an enemy of the gospel and a tool of the demonic stronghold in South Africa. Thank God for the freedom of speech we still have in the United States of America, and thank God for the great soul-winning marathon we had in Botswana, which is just a few miles from the South African border.

Botswana Update

Although we were well received by the people of Botswana, so far, at least four of us have been deported. We broke no laws, but it was easy for them to deport us since we apparently do not have many rights there as foreigners. The rest of the group has now split up, but as of Wednesday night, over 250 have been saved as a result of our soul-winning efforts. There are still several people from our group out soul winning, but since they have now split up, we will need to wait until everyone gets back to tally up the final numbers.

Faithful Word Baptist Church Botswana is not going to be founded at this time. Perhaps in the future, a local could spearhead the operation since a citizen would have more rights. Either that, or someone from the United States could become a naturalized citizen there. We are going to try to keep in touch with our converts in Botswana and encourage them to keep spreading the gospel.

Although the Sodomites are rejoicing and saying that we failed, we consider the trip to be a huge success:

· Over 250 people and counting have been won to Christ.
· We were able to preach in a school to about 600 junior high school students and their teachers.
· Thousands of our USB flash drives and preaching CDs are now circulating in Botswana.
· I was on the radio in Botswana, and that radio interview has gone viral on the internet.
· Our story has been on the cover of seven different newspapers in Botswana.
· We have been in the news all over Africa, and as a result, hundreds of thousands of people have heard the Word of God preached.

At least half of Botswana agrees with us, but apparently there is a disconnect between the people of Botswana and their leadership. People were cheering and asking to be photographed with me on the plane as I was being deported. Even the guys who arrested me treated me very well. Our expedition was in no way a failure since more people will hear the gospel on the internet as a result of the persecution. We have sent a shock wave through the entire African continent! Praise the Lord!

“Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.” Luke 6:22-23

Thoughts on Sending Out Missionaries

We Should Be Selective about the Missionaries We Support

If you’ve been in church for a while, you’ve probably heard pastors rant about lazy missionaries who hardly even go soul winning while here in the United States. If a missionary won’t win souls here, he probably won’t do it somewhere else either. The first qualification for a missionary is that he be sent out and trained in a local church. The second is that he must demonstrate the ability to preach and evangelize while serving locally. We are all for supporting missionaries that we can trust to be productive on the mission field, but churches definitely need to be selective in the area of missions.

“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” 1 Corinthians 4:2

“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2

We Should Send Missionaries to Receptive Areas

Our church prefers to concentrate more on receptive areas, which I believe is biblical:

“And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region. But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts. But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.” Acts 13:49-51

“And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.” Luke 9:5

The Bible clearly teaches that if people aren’t interested, you move on. Instead of going to a country where your church has to be underground, you could get more people saved by going to a receptive area where it is legal to preach. In some countries missionaries practice lifestyle evangelism for months before they feel like it is even safe to bring up the gospel. I understand the value of one soul, but what about the value of many more souls?

Reach Foreign Immigrants

Another way to reach people in areas that don’t have much freedom, is by giving the gospel to immigrants from those countries. I can take you soul winning in areas of Phoenix, Arizona, where you’ll feel like you’re in Africa, the Middle East, or China. By reaching immigrants with the gospel, you could indirectly reach their family members overseas.

Send the Best of the Best

A missionary needs to be willing to speak out against the false religions in the area and also preach hard on sin. A foreign country isn’t the place to send someone who lacks boldness or does not have the aptitude to teach. Just like a pastor, a missionary, or evangelist as the Bible calls it, needs to be a very strong man of God.
