Pastor Keith Gomez on Slavery

I recently came across this clip of Pastor Keith Gomez preaching, and, wow! There is so much wrong in this one short clip:



Did you catch what he said at the very beginning? Apparently, Gomez is a hyper-dispensationalist who thinks only 13 books of the Bible from Romans to Philemon were written to us in the “church age.” I guess that’s why he likes fellow Ruckmanite, Sam Gipp.

I don’t know which Bible version Gomez is reading in his studies because nowhere in the book of Philemon are we told “how to treat our slaves.” Even the passages in the Old Testament that supposedly condone slavery have to do with bondservants, which were nothing like the slavery that took place in America, but to imply that we are encouraged to have slaves in the New Testament is ludicrous.

Not only does Gomez claim that Philemon says something that it doesn’t, but he challenges those who are against slavery to answer why the subject of how to treat our slaves is addressed in Philemon. No, we cannot answer that, Keith Gomez, because Philemon says nothing like that. The only verse I could find in Philemon that remotely mentions a servant (not a slave) is verse 16:

“Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?”

Well there you have it folks—the New Testament manual on how to treat your slaves. Actually, what Paul was saying to Philemon was, Hey this guy used to be your servant in the past, but now he is NOT your servant anymore. He is to be received as a brother, and not as a servant.

Gomez’s gross misinterpretation of the book of Philemon is nothing more than a lie and an excuse for a racist rant. He basically said that all black people would have a bone in their nose and be fighting lions in Africa if their ancestors hadn’t been kidnapped and brought here as slaves! And people in his church actually said “Amen” to that. Unbelievable!

“And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.” Exodus 21:16

No wonder Gomez has to post his sermons on a password protected site. Keith Gomez, and others like him, are afraid to post their unbiblical sermons publicly because they don’t want to be called on the carpet for their false teaching. Lest I be accused of taking Gomez out of context, here is the link to the full sermon.

Don't Do Anything I Wouldn't Do

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” Titus 3:5

Salvation is by faith, not works. It’s all through Jesus, and it’s a free gift. Often someone will get saved and continue to drink alcohol or live in fornication. Those are wicked sins that do need to be repented of in the Christian life, but whether someone ever repents of those sins or not, they are still saved if they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ.

When someone teaches that you must repent of your sins to be saved, it raises the question of which sins? A typical repent-of-your-sins preacher might brag that he never smoked another cigarette after he got saved, yet he is morbidly obese. Did he repent of the sin of gluttony?

People often have an arbitrary list of sins in mind, which they feel must be given up in order for a person to be saved. This stems from judging others based on one’s own personal experience. For example, a person who has never touched a drop of alcohol since he got saved might assume that a saved person would never drink.

Even those of us who know better can fall into the trap of questioning the salvation of someone who believes right. Particularly, when it is someone in our own family, we want to see evidence of their conversion. We don’t believe people need to turn from their sins to be saved, but we expect them to make certain changes afterward or progress the same way we did. We need to remember that people struggle in different areas. They grow at different rates and even backslide.

I haven’t repented of all my sins, and neither have you. There is often a change in people’s lives after salvation, but it’s going to be different for different people. Factors such as baptism and church attendance will usually speed up the repentance process. Even if they never show up to church or give up any of their sins, believers will go to Heaven because their salvation does not depend on them.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Sam Gipp's Blasphemy was a Re-Run

"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:9-11

If you were hoping Sam Gipp misspoke when he recently attacked the name of Jesus, you will be disappointed because he has done it more than once. Finding other examples of Gipp preaching the same heresy was easy since he has such a limited repertoire. Like most traveling “evangelists,” Gipp is extremely repetitive, preaching the same recycled junk again and again. Even though Keith Gomez deleted Gipp’s conference sermons, a YouTube search of “Sam Gipp Israel” revealed more of the same heresy on Gipp’s own channel. Here is a transcript of Sam Gipp preaching the same thing back in January 2016:

“In Matthew chapter one, Joseph is he, he ya know, he finds out that Mary’s expecting. He’s gonna put her off quietly cause he doesn’t want her killed, and, and, Gabriel shows up and says, Hey, hey, let her alone. Ya see, you know who she’s carrying? Emmanuel. Really? Yeah. And, and, so when the child’s born they walk up to Joseph and say, So, what are you gonna call him? Jesus.

Did? I, come on, I was there when Joseph said Emmanuel. Right? I’m reading there. Gabriel said he shall be Emmanuel, and when Joseph gets to give him a name, he calls him Jesus. Did he not read two verses ahead? You say, why did he call him Emmanuel? Cause he was never with him. It says in John, ‘He came unto his own, and his own…’ that’s right. Do you understand that when it says that God is with you that you just read Emmanuel?

But, hang on. You see I don’t think this will ever happen. I don’t think in eternity anybody’s gonna say let’s go to Jerusalem and see Jesus. You see he’s never been officially called who? Emmanuel. I think they’ll say let’s go to Jerusalem and see God is with us--Emmanuel.

Take a look at this uh (unintelligible.) Wait a second, take a look at Revelation chapter 21. Member I told you God says he repeats it and says it and says it and says it because if you’re thick you might finally get it? You know what I’m gonna tell you? I told you that I can’t take a hint. Okay, I’m thickheaded, and I got it. How stupid do you have to be to not get it? You’d have to be like 12 years old. Probably hit in the head too many times—or not enough.”

It’s painful listening to this guy, but you can hear these statements for yourself, starting at 1:02:44 in his sermon entitled, “Is God Done with Israel:”

Obviously, Gipp has not been misinterpreted since the older quotes are even clearer than the statements made during the recent conference. Since so many independent Baptists seem to like Gipp, it was a blessing to hear several different preachers publicly calling him out for his heresy:

Sam Gipp is extremely hostile when politely asked about his beliefs. Maybe if you called him up and spoke to him he would respond differently, but I doubt it judging by his reaction to Brother Jeff Utzler’s simple question:


“Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him.” 1 Samuel 25:17

The name Jesus was given by the angel to Mary before Jesus was even conceived in the womb, yet Sam Gipp has repeatedly lied about this fact in his sermons. He says Joseph was told to name the baby “Emmanuel,” but that he named him “Jesus” instead “because God wasn’t with him.” Attacking the name of Jesus is blasphemous, and Gipp’s bizarre claims go against clear scripture.

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins." - Matthew 1:21

"And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb." - Luke 2:21

Anti-Anderson Conference: This Time It's Personal!

So after the Keith Gomez gave the prelude that I covered in the previous post, Sam Gipp got up to preach the final sermon of the Anti-Anderson Conference. The sermon mainly consisted of wild speculations, accusations, and lies about me personally.

One thing that he made a big deal about was stating that I received more than a million dollars from the government in a settlement regarding the border patrol incident that I was involved in back in April 2009. He then went on to say that I am no longer against border patrol checkpoints now that I have been paid. The truth is that when I sued the government in that case, it was thrown out by a federal judge, and I received nothing! In fact, that incident cost me over $10,000 of my own money for lawyer fees, new windows for my car, and hospital bills. There are videos of me in court on YouTube winning the criminal trial (i.e. I was declared not guilty on all counts), but when I sued them for damages, I was ruled against by a federal judge, and it never even went to court.

But, no, according to Sam Gipp, I am a millionaire! That is why I live in a 1540 square foot house built in 1956 in a questionable neighborhood, share a vehicle with my wife, and buy all my clothes at Goodwill.



The sermon was pretty much like that the whole time - wild accusations with no proof given. Most of what he said would be clearly proven false just by sitting down and watching After the Tribulation. He claims that I told him that I didn't know Pastor Roland Rasmussen and have nothing to do with him. What in the world? Then why did we use him as the narrator in our After the Tribulation film? The truth is that Pastor Rasmussen won my parents to the Lord when they were children in Canoga Park, CA, in the early 1960s. However, in those days Pastor Rasmussen was pre-trib. He came out with his book debunking the pre-trib rapture in 1996 (when I was 15 years old), but I didn't hear about the book until years later when I met Roland Rasmussen for the first time in the year 2000, and I didn't read it until late 2006 when one of Pastor Rasmussen's church members began attending our church every Wednesday night because he was commuting to Phoenix each week. I still talk to Pastor Rasmussen on the phone every few months because he is extremely intelligent, and I enjoy discussing Bible prophecy with him. Even though we don't see eye to eye on many things, I have great respect for his scholarship and Bible knowledge and always learn something.

One thing that cracked me up was his story about calling Pastor Roger Jimenez. He claimed that Pastor Jimenez had to call me and report to me because I am his cult leader. The true story is that he called Brother Jimenez and said, "I am trying to get a hold of Pastor Anderson. Can you have him give me a call?" In fact, he let's this slip out in the clip below because after telling the lie about Jimenez having to report to me, he then says that he told Jimenez that he wanted to speak to me! Gipp also had the gall to say that I like his material on the King James Version. In his dreams! His material on the KJV is garbage, and I have never liked it. I rebuked his foolish teaching on the word "Easter" about 10 years ago and have always avoided him and all other Ruckmanite false teachers. I believe that the KJV is the word of God without error, but I think that people like Gipp do damage to the cause of KJV-onlyism because their arguments are so weak, people like James White (also a heretic) can easily dismantle them. Anti-Anderson Conference: the Saga Continues

Keith Gomez is going to kick my donkey!

So as a grand finale for the Anti-Anderson Conference, on Wednesday night (the final night), Keith Gomez started out by introducing and playing the entire video that I made rebuking Sam Gipp's blasphemy. First he read a list of Bible verses against anger, then he played the video, and instead of giving any scripture or reasons I was wrong, he simply said, "There's something wrong with that man's spirit."



The most ironic thing about this is that Keith Gomez was clearly very angry himself and then admitted that he had a bad spirit after repeatedly challenging me to come to Illinois for a physical fight. No scripture was given on why Sam Gipp's blasphemy of Jesus was right or justified, but rather Pastor Gomez just reverted to Junior High mode and did a bunch of chest pounding about how I need to fly to Chicago and say these things to his face. That is extremely hypocritical given that he hosted an entire conference attacking me and didn't fly to Arizona to come "say it to my face." I would never challenge him to come fly to Arizona and "say it to my face" because we don't wrestle with flesh and blood. Violence is not the way to settle Biblical doctrine. Not only that, but the Bible specifically forbids pastors from striking or brawling:

"A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, NO STRIKER, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, NOT A BRAWLER, not covetous;" - 1 Timothy 3:2-3



The thing that really stood out to me was that after playing my video exposing Sam Gipp, in which I said that anyone who listens to what Sam Gipp said and agrees with it or is okay with it is clearly not saved, he then proceeded to tell his congregation that I had declared them all unsaved. So what he actually did there is just make an assumption that everyone in the auditorium must have agreed with Sam Gipp's bizarre blasphemy. Keith Gomez is so sure that everyone in his church is a brainwashed, mindless follower, the thought that anyone in the auditorium might disagree with him doesn't even enter his mind!

"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." - Proverbs 16:18

The presumption and arrogance of Keith Gomez is going to backfire. I guarantee you that there were plenty of people in that auditorium that agreed with me about Gipp's blasphemy because even when you listen to the video you can tell that the energy of the crowd is not on their side. You could cut the tension in that place with a knife. Sure there are always going to be the amen-bellowing yes-men who would gladly follow Gomez or Gipp off a cliff, but there have to be people in that church who can think for themselves. Apparently Gomez wants to run them off, so he can have unquestioned obedience and loyalty from his mindless drones. It will be interesting to see how many people quit the church after this debacle.

I believe that this may be similar to the story of Pharaoh in the Bible where God hardened Pharaoh's heart to the point where didn't even realize that he was destroying his own kingdom by resisting the word of God.

"And Pharaoh's servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the Lord their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?" - Exodus 10:7

Playing the full video in his church was a very foolish thing to do, but I believe that God wanted it to be played so that everyone in the audience would be without excuse.

Like Bob Gray earlier this year, Pastor Keith Gomez is another great example of a preacher from the Baby Boomer Generation who is in the process of "burning it all down" for the next generation. That is why the preachers of my generation need to forsake these false prophets and quit following them just because they're old.

"Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished." - Ecclesiastes 4:13

Keith Gomez Teaches Hyper-Dispensationalism

No one likes to admit to being "hyper-" anything because the word hyper implies that you have gone too far with something. Keith Gomez claims not to be a hyper-dispensationalist, but by anyone's definition, that is exactly what he is. I have been a fundamental Baptist my entire life, and there are two schools of thought on what makes someone a hyper-dispensationalist:

1. Teaching that people were saved by works in another dispensation
2. Teaching that only the books Paul wrote (Romans-Philemon) pertain to us today

Pastor Keith Gomez teaches BOTH of these points in just a few minutes, but he starts out by saying that he "is not a hyper-dispensationalist." Then what in the world is a hyper-dispensationalist?! The two points listed above are the most extreme dispensational views out there, so if they are not "hyper-" then what is hyper?

In the following short clip, he says that James 2 teaches salvation by works, but that it wasn't written to us, so it only applies to Jews. Then he says that Jews had to do works in the Old Testament in order to be saved. He also says that after the rapture, we will be back in the "Jewish economy" again (i.e. salvation by works).

In the next clip he lets us know that any doctrinal point made from the book of Hebrews is invalid, implying that losing your salvation is for another dispensation or for Jews. Listen for your self, and then decide whether or not Pastor Keith Gomez is a hyper-dispensationalist:



The Bible makes it crystal clear that ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine (2 Timothy 3:16) - NOT just the books the Apostle Paul wrote or books written specifically to the Gentiles. The entire New Testament is written to us as Christians! I won't even mention the fact that the book of Hebrews was actually written by the Apostle Paul anyway.

The Bible also makes it crystal clear that people have always been saved by calling upon the name of the Lord by faith WITHOUT WORKS and that they were eternally secure. Here are just a few scriptures on that.

Romans 4:

5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

"And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord." - Genesis 4:26

"To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins." - Acts 10:43

"Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they." - Acts 15:10-11

Anti-Anderson Conference Day 1

Sam Gipp displays his intelligence with point 2: "Who's is he talking you? Jews"

The Anti-Anderson Conference is in full swing, and although the 3 hour morning sessions with Sam Gipp are not online, the evening services are being live-streamed. I tuned in for about a half hour yesterday evening before church and thought it was hilarious that the sermon was virtually identical to the one he preached at Treasure Valley Baptist Church almost 3 years ago when he denied Jesus as his messiah. He even told all the same corny jokes, used the same illustrations, etc. You would think that he would want to open the conference with some fresh material, not just warm over the same sermon from 3 years ago! These "evangelists" don't realize that in the age of the internet, it looks foolish to just keep preaching the exact same material over and over again with jokes that are obviously canned.

He even made the exact same mistakes as he did the first time, like when he claimed that there were only about 2 million people on the earth at the time of Christ - there were actually 200 million. The Bible records an army of Ethiopians that had 1 million people in it. Apparently Sam Gipp thinks that half the world's population in Bible days were Ethiopian soldiers. He should have watched my textual commentary of his sermon to at least correct a few basic errors. Since their is no video archive of his first sermon from the Anti-Anderson Conference, you can just watch this video of his sermon from 3 years ago since it was virtually the same sermon anyway!



When he got to the part in the sermon where he normally denies that Jesus is his Messiah, he left that part out this time.

This evening (Monday), I was able to tune in to the last half hour or so of Gipp's sermon, and it was non-stop jokes and rabbit trails. The part that I saw had virtually nothing to with the tribulation, the rapture, or anything else pertaining to the subjects at hand. He went on and on about the difference between the angels Michael and Gabriel, and he talked a lot about Lucifer in Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28, Jesus being tempted in the wilderness and fasting 40 days and 40 nights, etc. I have no idea what these things had to do with the point of his sermon or with the point of this conference. It seemed like it was just some of his favorite material that he uses on the road, so he pulled it out to fill time.

When Keith Gomez got up at the end for the altar call and invitation, he seemed disappointed and desperate since Sam Gipp had delivered no proof for a pre-trib rapture, so he quickly got out his two most powerful points on why After the Tribulation is wrong:

1. The great men of the past can't have been wrong. "We already fought these battles."
2. Don't listen to preachers on the internet.

Gomez then provided an opportunity for those who had "changed their view" on the rapture as a result of the sermon to come to the altar (even though the sermon wasn't even talking about the timing of the rapture).

Well it looks like Sam Gipp and Keith Gomez are planning a conference all about fighting yours truly. Many preachers across America have recently expressed appreciation for the preaching and soul-winning being done by our church and other churches in our movement, but as usual, a few are envious. In this case, one is a hyper-dispensationalist and the other pushes "repent of your sins" salvation.

The following is copied and pasted from an e-mail forwarded to me by another pastor:

The Bible Answer to Post-Trib: Presented by Dr. Sam Gipp

The doctrine of a pretribulational rapture has been under attack recently by a pastor in Arizona, Steven Anderson.

Many pastors across the nation have voiced their concern over this issue...some have lost church members as a result of this doctrinal error.

I am aware of even some young preachers who are falling for Anderson's false teaching.

You may not think your church is being influenced by this heresy...but it is!

On May 8-10, 2017 (Monday-Wednesday), Dr. Sam Gipp will be presenting the Bible Answer to Post-Trib Theology.

I couldn’t find anything about this meeting online, but apparently, this e-mail was sent out to pastors in their circle and in their geographic area. It’s on their church’s calendar simply as “Evangelist Sam Gipp,” so I guess they don't want people in our movement to get wind of it and show up at the conference or participate in the live stream.

I guarantee that the conference is going to backfire. Most independent fundamental Baptist pastors (even the ones who are dispensational) do not believe in the radical hyper-dispensationalism taught by Sam Gipp. Anyone at the conference who is actually saved and indwelled by the Holy Spirit is not going to fall for Gipp's "multiple Gospel" garbage (i.e. that Jesus taught a different Gospel than Paul, etc). After listening to 4 hours per day of Gipp's teachings on dispensationalism, many of them will never want anything to do with him again. Most IFBs don't realize how radical and heretical he is on these subjects. In our film, Marching to Zion, we even documented him saying that Jesus is not his Messiah!

Not only that, but "Doctor" Sam Gipp is one of the least intelligent preachers I have ever heard. Why would Keith Gomez pick the dumbest possible preacher to defend this doctrine? At least Sam Gipp's mentor Peter Ruckman (also a heretic) was extremely intelligent. Sam Gipp is like Peter Ruckman without the brains. Talk about the worst of both worlds! In a typical one hour sermon from Gipp, he puts his foot in his mouth about 10 times.  This video provides a small sample of his intellectual deficit:



The bottom line is that I believe that this wicked conference will backfire, and that it will ultimately be used for God's glory by exposing more people to the truths found in After the Tribulation and Marching to Zion. Once any saved pastor delves into the issues surrounding Israel, the tribulation, the rapture, etc, he is going to come to the same conclusions that we have because we all have the same Bible and the same Holy Spirit. I welcome the controversy because at least pastors will start digging into the Bible and getting to the bottom of these subjects. If they are sincere, the Holy Ghost will guide them into all truth.
