"Elect" or election has nothing to do with salvation. It means "chosen," which also has nothing to do salvation. It is not a Salvitic term.

Scriptures for ἐκλέγομαι (Gtr. eklegomai) meaning 'to choose' Strong's 1586

Isaiah 42

King James Version (KJV)

42 Behold my Servant, Whom I uphold; mine ELECT, in Whom My soul delighteth; I have put My Spirit upon Him: He shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

Isaiah 49:7

King James Version (KJV)

7 Thus saith the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to Him whom man despiseth, to Him whom the nation abhorreth, to a Servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the Lord that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and He shall CHOOSE Thee.

Jesus Christ is "elect" and "chosen" - But the sinless and perfect Savior has no need of salvation - He is the provider of salvation.

In all my years teaching the Bible, I have found that only Calvinists and Replacement theologists believe that the "elect" is the church.

Consider that the Lord first "chose" Saul to be king - and then He "unchose" him, and then "chose" David. You can be "unchosen," but you can not be "unsaved," or "unborn." Election is not redemption.
