1. All sessions are optional for those 18 years old and over. Come and go as you please.
2. Anyone under 18 at the building needs to be participating in a session if one is on the schedule at that time. Minors should not leave the building to roam the parking lot at any time.
3. The music genres at this conference will be limited to psalms, hymns, negro spirituals, folk tunes, and classical music. The focus will be on hymns.
4. There will be no CCM, praise and worship style music, pop, rock, country, rap, etc.
5. Break-out sessions will be threefold: song-leading (room 1), piano (auditorium), and guitar (room 2).
6. Men whose main instrument is something other than piano or guitar should join the song-leading classes.
7. Women whose main instrument is something other than piano or guitar should join the guitar class. We will try to have some extra guitars.
8. If you have an extra keyboard or guitar that isn't too expensive, bringing it for others to borrow would be helpful.
9. We can store your instrument overnight.
10. Good luck finding a decent hotel near the church! (plan to stay a little further away, maybe near the airport)
11. Jam sessions will be threefold:
a. The main session in the auditorium which will simulate congregational singing in church. All song leading pupils will take turns leading the song, and instrumentalists will play along. We will start at song 1 in the hymnal and realistically reach around song 100 by the end of the conference.
b. An easier, casual jam session will be held in room 1 for those who are not capable of playing along with the main jam session. No goofing off!
c. Advanced musicians can collaborate and work on composition during this time in either room 2 or room 3.
12. Enjoy the conference and thank you for attending!
