Silent Partners Needed for Soul-winning MEGA Marathon

In Exodus Chapters 3 and 4, we read about God sending Moses to speak to Pharaoh and Moses making excuses about not being a good speaker.

“And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say. And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart. And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do. And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.” Exodus 4:10-16

Moses was making excuses that he wasn’t a good speaker even though God had promised to help him. God was displeased, but once Moses found out Aaron was going, he felt more confident and agreed to go. Moses was one of the greatest leaders who ever lived, but initially, he was nervous about doing the talking.

There’s a "Soul-winning Mega Marathon" coming to your area on March 31st. This will be a huge event. We are having soul-winning marathons that day in all fifty states, and we’ll meet you there! Obviously, I won’t be able to physically attend more than one of them, but there are plenty of people who speak well and that, like Aaron, are coming forth to meet you.

If you don’t feel like you can talk, just show up anyway. There will be plenty of people there who can speak, and they just want you to show up. Moses wanted God to just send someone else, but when we make excuses, the anger of the Lord is kindled.

We all need God’s help with what to say out soul winning, but even if you need someone to speak for you, please just show up and be a silent partner. We all got started soul winning as a silent partner, and it’s the best way to learn. Not only that, but there is usually a shortage of silent partners, and we end up sending two “talkers” out together. The more pairs we can send out, the more people we can reach with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Just show up, and you will be glad you were a part of this historic event.

Mark your calendar for March 31st, and click here to find out the location of the soul-winning marathon near you.

Here is the sermon that inspired this blog post.

Hello Pastor! This is Anthony Marrero from upstate NY. I met you at the Maine soulwining marathon along with my friend Luke Douglas, who has visited your church, and my friend Matt, that you baptized. Luke and I will be at the Mega-marathon in NYC. I left a couple messages on the churches voicemail letting you know that I want to go on the Mexico trip. I'm practicing Spanish and getting my passport in order. I know you are busy but I am hoping to hear from you or someone at Faithful Word asap to find out exactly what I need to do to make the cut. Thank you for all your awesome work.
God Bless, Anthony
