Baptist Churches Scale Back Soul-winning

“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.” Revelation 2:4

I’m disgusted with this new trend in churches where they are scaling back soul winning to once a month! Compare that with our church’s 12 official soul-winning times per week. I’m not taking credit for all of that—there are several different people heading up our various soul-winning times, but the point is that our church does a ton of soul winning.

Lately, whether I am knocking doors in a major city or some isolated small town, I see the Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons out in force. You know who I don’t see? I don’t see the lazy Baptists! I talked to an old Indian man on the Apache reservation who said the Baptists used to come years ago, but they’ve stopped coming. There is something wrong with the Baptists in this country when a church 30 miles from an Indian reservation never steps foot there. The Jehovah’s witnesses that were down there said they come twice a week!

The very same church that is failing miserably at reaching people in their area has criticized us for doing the Lord’s Supper a different way than they do. Meanwhile, they’ve done away with weekly soul winning. The world’s going to Hell, yet a lot of Baptist churches only seem to have time to hand out tracts in rich neighborhoods once a month, just so they can get their tithes!

Some churches still knock doors once or twice a week, and that's a great start. Ideally, when a church gets large enough, there should be soul-winning going on every day of the week just like in the book of Acts. When you give people a variety of times to choose from, they are much more likely to average once a week.

Any church that scales back soul winning to once a month is a joke and a social club! Instead of scaling back soul winning, they should be adding more soul-winning times to make it easier for their members to go more often. Meanwhile, our churches and others like us will have to pick up the slack and do more than ever before.

“Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;” Matthew 9:37

Here is a sermon to go with this article.

You could say the same applies to mission work. The Jehovahs false Witnesses and Mormons are flying into African countries all the time. When I was at Lilongwe airport, of all the white people some were tourists but almost all were either from an aid organisation or a mission for false religions (besides us of course). At least we had one mission to Malawi and look at the inroads we made! With all the gang there we averaged 200+ saved per day. But it was the one and only time which is very sad, just as most left yet more Mormons were being flown in to spread the Gospel of Kolob. I still believe you/we should be going back. Of course there was SA and Botswana where unfortunately you got to see how evil and God-hating the regimes are, now add to that how USA Bible colleges actually teach their students that Southern Africa is gospel saturated so don't go there. Result, no real churches and almost no soul winning (aside from the few who do). But the false witnesses are on every corner, trying to lure people into Hell.

A different field but the same principle. Where are the Baptists? Too busy worshipping Israel I guess. The world needs the IFB more than ever before as other countries just have no radical churches who actually believe God's Word.

I thought of a movement idea.

How about instead of signs all over saying God Bless America... we put up signs that say America Bless God.

Pretty good for a house church with just me, huh?

Hi pastor Anderson, what is your opinion on Bitcoin? Is it Biblical for a Christian to invest in cryptocurrency?

You posted about the apostles convincing Jesus to turn toward them on the water with their prayers.

Do you think it would do any good to get vast numbers of Christians to pray for the return ahead of schedule?

I sure am tired of being here alone.

Hello Pastor Anderson,

I was wondering if you are able to do a blog about any possible New Years resolutions or general pet peeves/sins you encounter in America. I guess some very obvious examples are TV and laziness. I do know you do preach many of them in your various sermons, but it would be nice to get the highlights and compact them in a list.

(Now that I'm typing this, maybe I should get a notebook, write down a list of stuff with verses I watch from your sermons, and check them off for this year...)

@ Perpetual Expat:

The sodophile stormclouds have already started gathering over Jamaica. Some "Gay John" has started a petition to ban Pastor Anderson from entering the country. Looks like another South Africa/Botswana situation shaping up in the West Indies.

It seems that the Africans and diaspora in the West Indies will just have to pick up the cudgels and DIY. Thanks to the power of YouTube, what a thumb in the nose it would be to the sons of Belial for the capitals of Africa and the West Indies to join up in the Mega Marathon of March 31.

You can get brothers and sisters in Joburg, Lagos, Nairobi and Cairo to organize in the four corners of Africa while the West Indies can organize in their own capitals. Pastor Anderson can't be everywhere and the missions loopholes will be closing up for sure in 2018 after all this publicity. You saw Malawi started with a bang, but after Bro. Kirchway's new domestic commitments, I doubt they'll be seeing a follow-up anytime soon if the sodophile activists there have their way. So the locals just have to carry the torch from here.
